Data Engineer Lead - Subsidiary
What you will do:
- Manages team of data engineer and senior data engineers
- Lead them into the optimal problem solving direction through critical analysis and evaluation of problems in hand
- Ensures team of data engineers utilizes diverse perspectives in developing solutions
- Presenting crafted solutions and proposals to critical stakeholders such as upper management and Leaders in different departments
- Builds a collaborative culture in the data engineer team
- Mentor the team in their approaches in analytics problem-solving, as well as soft skills
- Analyse current subordinates performances through KPIs and metrics, then develop methodologies to improve KPIs in the workforce procedurals.
- Make critical decisions regarding direction of research projects
- Distinguishing important and unimportant approaches in data-based problem solving
- Resolves conflicts and manage issues in between a team of data engineers and also ongoing issues with other departments
- Responsibility in maintaining a sustainable client management with other department’s representatives (business, product, tech, data, people, marketing, etc)
What this role needs:
- Bachelors in Computer Science and related feilds
- 4 years in data engineering field
- 1+ years in a managerial role
- Passionate and knowledgeable about big data stacks:
- Distributed systems: Spark, Hadoop, Hive, etc
- Message Queueing systems: Kafka, NSQ, etc
- Database (Relational & NoSQL): PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, etc
- Hands on experience in SQL and programming language: Python, Java, or Scala
- Understand about data warehousing and data mining concepts
- Familiar with cloud computing platform (AWS, GCP, etc) and UNIX environment
- Have fast learning capability and natural curiosity about big data
- Have good sense sense of ownership
- Minimum 1 year experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring big data analytics solutions
- Have DevOps skills are plus points
